Who We Are

An integrated geology and geophysics practice

Arcanum Geosciences provides professional geological and geophysical services to the mining, mineral exploration, engineering, energy and groundwater sectors. Our team includes senior-level geophysicists, senior-level geologists and junior geoscientists, with more than 50 years of combined local and international experience.

We operate across five principal market sectors — mining and mineral exploration, groundwater, engineering, energy, and drone-enabled geophysics — and we do not treat these as rigidly separate practices. Staff, equipment and technical knowledge move between sectors as required, so that we can take on large and technically difficult projects with the right combination of skills.

What We Do

From field data to defensible interpretation

Arcanum maintains a comprehensive supply of surface and borehole geophysical equipment, together with hydrogeological field equipment, to acquire high-quality subsurface data. We combine in-house and cloud-based computing capability with technical expertise to process, model, interpret and visualise that data — turning raw survey results into information our clients can act on.

Technical Philosophy

Multidisciplinary by design

Complex subsurface problems rarely respect the boundaries between geology, geophysics and hydrogeology. Arcanum's teams are structured to work across those boundaries, combining geological understanding with geophysical measurement and, where relevant, hydrogeological and geotechnical engineering expertise, so that interpretations are grounded in the full context of a site.

We prioritise technical capability and professionalism in how we plan, execute and report on every project, from initial survey design through to data processing, interpretation and client deliverables.
